Dynamic Reports, Smarter Valuation with Lyle Radke of Fannie Mae

Dynamic reports. Smarter valuation. Here’s what UAD 3.6 really means

Change is in the air, and the appraisal industry is right at the center of it. In episode three of Valligent’s ValTALK podcast, host Jeff Hogan, Chief Appraiser at Valligent, sits down with Lyle Radke, Principal in Collateral Risk Management at Fannie Mae, to unpack what’s driving the latest changes in valuation and what the new UAD 3.6 appraisal means for the industry.

From paper forms and PDFs (originally designed for typewriters) to more dynamic reports and a smarter, data-driven approach to valuation, Jeff and Lyle explore how evolving standards are transforming the capture, sharing, and understanding of appraisal information.

They also tackle one of the biggest questions in the industry: where do appraisers fit in a more digital world? The answer is simple – right at the center! With smarter tools and more structured data, the role of the appraiser is not fading; it is becoming even more essential.

This episode covers:

  • What’s changing in valuation and why it matters
  • How UAD 3.6 is reshaping appraisal reporting
  • The evolving role of appraisers in a tech-enabled environment
  • How digital tools improve efficiency without replacing expertise
  • What to know about the November 2, 2026 adoption timeline

“Things may change a little, but that’s good, that’s healthy.”  – Lyle Radke, Fannie Mae
